Following the sack of some 20 Cross River lawmakers yesterday, the Federal High Court Abuja will on Friday proceed to decide the fate of Governor Ben Ayade for abandoning the PDP for the APC. In a suit filed FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021, Emmanuel Ukala, the People’s Democratic Party counsel is seeking an order to sack Ayade and his deputy for leaving the party for the All Progressives Congress. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says operatives of its Uyo zonal command on March 19th, 2022, arrested seven undergraduates of the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for suspected internet fraud in a sting operation. This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren. According to him, the suspects were arrested at their hideout along Ring Road, off Nwaniba Road, near Uniuyo permanent site. The Federal High Court Abuja has sacked 29 lawmakers of the Cross River State House of Assembly for defecting from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. Justice Taiwo Taiwo ruled over the suit that was filed under the title FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021, noting that the lawmakers must leave their seats. The Oyo state police command have rescued two men from a mob in Alakia-Adelubi Area of Ibadan. The two men, Kabiru Salam and Lukman Adisa, were about to face jungle justice at the hands of some angry youths after they attempted to kidnap a 9-year-old girl, known as Ope, on Sunday.
