A Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has convicted and sentenced an undergraduate of the Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, Gbadamosi Joseph Adebayo to six months imprisonment for internet fraud, otherwise known as “Yahoo Yahoo.” In the same vein, three other fraudsters: Tijani Wasiu Oluwakemi, Olunlade Quadri Olamilekan and Olaogun Segun Damilola were also convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by various courts for their involvement in internet fraud. They were all arraigned on one-count separate charge bordering on criminal impersonation preferred against them by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Kaduna State have arrested a suspected bandit gun runner, Rilwanu Abdullahi. The suspect was arrested in Damari village of Birnin-Gwari local government area of Kaduna State on Tuesday. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Spokesman of the state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige on Wednesday. An Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court, presided over by Justice Abiola Soladoye, on Monday sentenced a school bus driver, Tony Akpan, to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old pupil. Five witnesses appeared in court to testify against the defendant. The court ruled that Mr. Akpan’s dastardly act went against sections 137 and 415 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
