Governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the north on Saturday night, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to consider southern presidential hopefuls when picking his successor. Lagos pentecostal preacher and president Muhammadu Buhari’s former running mate, Tunde Bakare has been disqualified from contesting the All Progressives Congress’ presidential primary elections. Besides Bakare, Uju Ken-Ohanenye, who was the only female contestant in the APC was also disqualified. Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has been declared as the Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Sokoto South. By this token, Tambuwal is now seeking to represent seven local government areas in the red chamber come 2023. Ibrahim Magu has been decorated as the Assistant Inspector General of Police, despite being suspended as the acting chairman of the EFCC. Magu was decorated by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba at the police headquarters in Abuja. This is coming after his promotion was confirmed by the Police Service Commission as he turned the mandatory age of 60 on 5th May.
