Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 140 suspected yahoo boys. They were nabbed in separate sting operations at popular hotels, Lakers Lounge hotel and Bar and De Butlers, in Ikorodu, Lagos State following credible intelligence on their involvement in internet-related fraud. The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 arrested a total of 47 suspected internet fraudsters, also known as “Yahoo Boys” from different locations in Owerri, Imo State. The Ebonyi Government House cameraman, Uchenna Nwube, has been kidnapped by gunmen. Nwube was whisked away by the gunmen on Wednesday along the Okigwe-Aba-Enugu Highway in Abia State. This was disclosed to newsmen on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi State, Chris Anyanwu on Thursday. According to him, contact has been established with Uchenna’s abductors, adding that they are demanding N50 million to release the victim.
