Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court, Uyo has convicted and sentenced a notorious international fraudster, also known as “Yahoo boy”, Scales Olatunji, to 235 years imprisonment for internet fraud and money laundering. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren. The statement said Olatunji was arraigned on July 2, 2019 on 45-count charges bordering on identity theft, money laundering and conspiracy. One Bishop Felix Duruebube of the Mercy House Church International, Eliozu near Port Harcourt has been imprisoned for failing to meet conditions for bail. The Bishop was granted bail on Monday by a magistrate Court in Port Harcourt, after he was arraigned for rape and for forcing his victim, a 16-year-old girl to take an oath. The Nation’s foremost antigraft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has dragged one Nyani Gabriel to court for involving in forex fraud. According to the official statement by the Commission, the scam he was involved in amounted to N7.5m. “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned Nyani Kubiliru Gabriel before Justice S.U. Bature of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama, Abuja, for alleged foreign exchange fraud. “Gabriel was arraigned on four-count charges bordering on obtaining money under false pretence, cheating, fraudulent conversion and criminal breach of trust,” the statement by the Commission read. In Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team arrested a ‘military officer’ for riding a motorcycle against traffic. In the clip seen online by Switch Nigeria, the ‘officer’ was forced into a police truck by some police officers. Former presidential aide to ex President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has continued his attack on the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu. In a series of posts on his official facebook page on Tuesday evening, Omokri questioned the integrity and character of Tinubu as regards crime. No fewer than 3 people died when a diesel tanker went up in flames in Kogi on Monday night. Two other people also sustained varying degrees of burn-related injuries.
