A supposed military attack on a bandits hideout in Katsina State went south as they missed their target and ended up killing innocent civilians. The attack on their hideout was ordered after Commissioner of Police, ACP, Aminu Umar, was killed by bandits on Tuesday. The attack which was carried out in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, left an unknown number of persons dead. Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, says all the 64 members of Boko Haram terrorists have fled the Kuje prison after gunmen attacked the facility. Gunmen had stormed the facility on Tuesday, with explosions and gunshots heard from the direction of the correctional centre located in Abuja, the nation’s capital. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Shuaib Belgore, has confirmed that over 600 inmates escaped from Kuje Prison following the attack on the facility on Tuesday.
