Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested twenty three (23) suspected internet fraudsters, better known as “Yahoo Boys.” They were arrested on July 27, 2022 at different locations in Enugu State on the strength of intelligence reports linking them to various internet related fraud. The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Accountant General of the Federation, Idris Ahmed and his co-defendants. The bail was granted on the basis that the defendants meet the terms and conditions the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has offered. Recall that on May 16, Idris Ahmed, Nigeria’s Accountant General, was nabbed by the EFCC for alleged diversion of N80 billion. The Senate minority caucus have sent a warning to president Muhammadu Buhari, asking him to end the rampant insecurity in the country or face impeachment. This is coming after the minority caucus led by the Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda staged a walk out from Wednesday’s plenary.
