Men of the Nigeria Police, Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Command, on Monday shot and killed two suspected kidnappers. The two unidentified men were caught while forcefully conveying a farmer they had kidnapped around Galadimawa, near Gwarimpa which is in the heart of Nigeria’s seat of power. In a video seen by Switch Nigeria, the two men could be seen in a pool of their blood with their rifles resting on their chests. However, it is not clear if the farmer they kidnapped was saved or killed in the gun exchange between the hoodlums and the law enforcement officers. The Academic Staff Union of Univerties(ASUU) have extended the ongoing strike by another 4 weeks. The extension is effective immediately. The current strike has been on since February. According to ASUU, the extension is to afford the government more time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues. This was made known by President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, when he addressed members of the press on Monday. Skit makers seeking to use police uniforms in the skits would now get police approval before usage, the Inspector General of police, Usman Baba has said. Baba stated this in a statement issued on Sunday by the Force Spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, while warning actors and skit makers against misusing police uniforms or using same without prior approval.
