The broadcasting licences of AIT, Silverbird TV, Rythm FM and Raypower have been revoked by the National Broadcasting Commission(NBC). The NBC said this became necessary as the media houses failed to renew their broadcast licences amounting to N2.66 billion. NBCs action is coming after the Commission released a list of stations yet to renew their licences. According to the Commission, a two-week waiver was given to them in May to do so after which they risked the revocation of their broadcast licences. A black American man, Austin Amos was apprehended by men of the New York Police Department 101 Precinct on Thursday for the alleged murder of one Kutin Gyimah. Austin, a 20-year-old man together with four others allegedly attacked and killed the 52-year-old taxi driver who is a Ghanaian. Nigerian singer, BNXN, has clarified his tweet after his clash with some police officers in Lagos. Videos had surfaced online on Wednesday showing BNXN confronting policemen who blocked his car on the road. After the encounter, the singer shared a cryptic post which read: “spat on a police officer’s face and it felt so good.” His comment sparked criticism on social.
