A gas plant reportedly exploded in the early hours of Monday around the main gate of Redemption City. According to a statement released by the Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG), the explosion only rocked the gas plant, and didn’t extend to the Camp grounds. This goes against reports making the rounds that the explosion affected the camp ground. In a statement titled ‘Explosion not in Redemption City,’ released by the Church shortly after the incident went public, members of the public have been urged to stay calm. An ongoing road project in Plateau State has been washed away by rain. According to TrackaNG, an accountability platform, the Yola-Wakat- Bashar road project in Wase Federal constituency of the State was washed away after a heavy downpour. According to TrackaNG, the road project is being facilitated by Hon. Ahmed Wase, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and the representative from the constituency the road is located. From the pictures, it can be seen that the road was poorly constructed using low standard materials.
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out the Federal Government’s request to extradite the suspended deputy commissioner of police, DCP Abba Kyari to the USA where he’s to stand trial. Recall that Abba Kyari is being tried for his involvement with notorious internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, AKA Hushpuppi. Delivering his verdict on Monday, Justice Inyang Ekwo ruled that the extradition application filed by the Federal Government lacked competence and merit.

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has urged politicians and political parties to refrain from using worship centres for campaign purposes. This is coming exactly a month away from September 28 when parties will be allowed to commence campaigns. The Chairman of INEC’s Committee on Information and Voter Education, Mr Festus Okoye, cited Section 92 of the Electoral Act and said the law is against every form of abuse.
