Two men, unnamed, have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for assaulting two police men. In a video seen trending on Twitter, the two men were caught on video grappling for a rifle with a police officer. According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of Lagos State Police Command, the incident occurred around Meiran. A lady, Ummakulsum Sani Buhari has been allegedly stabbed to death by her Chinese boyfriend. According to a police report, the Chinese man said he did what he did because the deceased took his money but refused to marry him as promised. Personnel of the Nigerian Police in Ebonyi State, on Saturday, tear gassed supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, who gathered at the Pastoral Centre, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, for a rally. According to the Punch, the incident which took place at the Pastoral Centre saw men of the Nigeria Police Force tear gas the supporters, who numbered over 10,000. Ebonyi is an Eastern state ruled Dave Umahi, an APC governor who contested but lost his Party’s presidential primaries.
Some toilet facilites built by former Bayern Munich defender, David Alaba have been commissioned in Ogere Remo community in Ogun State. Alaba who was born in Austria by Nigerian parents donated N13.3 million to the Nigerian government through the David Alaba Foundation for the construction of biodegradable toilets in that community. They were commissioned by the Minister of Water Resources Suleiman Adamu, who commended the Austrian International who now plays for Real Madrid for his kind gesture. Adamu added that private sector investment is crucial in Nigeria’s fight to combat open defecation.
Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested sixteen persons over an alleged case of cybercrime, also known as “Yahoo Yahoo” and possession of fraudulent funds in Ilorin. They were arrested on Thursday, September 15, 2022 following credible intelligence worked upon by the Commission. EFCC Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
