Nigerian police were caught on camera tear gassing a crowd of protesting crippled athletes. The protest which was against the Government took place along Stadium Road in Surulere. The incident caused much traffic, as the disabled occupied the road to demand benefits owed them are paid. The police’s poor handling of the situation only made things worse. The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected 20-year-old kidnapper with the sum of N8,466,000.00, believed to be ransom paid by victims of his nefarious activities. The Commissioner of Police, Umar Sanda, stated this while parading the suspect alongside others at the command’s headquarters in Bauchi on Tuesday. He said several arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspect, who is also a cattle herder.

The body of an unidentified young lady has been found dead with deep cut on her head dumped in a stream along the Federal Housing Estate after welfare quarter Makurdi, the Benue state capital. The body, which was discovered by officers from the police B division, has seen been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Wadata, Makurdi. According to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), two young girls have drowned in separate incidents in Dutse and Kafin Hausa Local Areas of the state. This was disclosed by the spokesman of the Jigawa state division of NSCDC, Adamu Shehu, who spoke to News Agency of Nigeria.
