A magistrate court sitting in Ota, Ogun State, has sentenced 47-year old, Adungba Taiwo to 8 months imprisonment for theft. The convict whose address the court failed to mention, reportedly stole 34 pieces of iron doors valued at N805,000. In her ruling, chief magistrate Mrs. A. O Adeyemi sentenced him to eight months imprisonment with an option of N5,000 fine. She also asked the convict to restitute N805,000 to the complainant. Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp E.O. The Federal Government has confirmed that it currently owes contractors N11.16 trillion in road construction projects and certificates of completion. This was disclosed by Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works and Housing, when he appeared before the Senate to defend his ministry’s 2023 budget. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 51-year-old man, Austine Kanu for abducting four teenage boys.
