The People’s Democratic Party has picked Delta State Governor, Patrick Okowa as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.
The tussle was between Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Okowa, as the party sought a running mate from the crop of sitting governors from the South South and Sout East regions.
Switch Nigeria was made to believe that Atiku opted for Okowa because he seems to be more aware of the problems bedevilling Nigeria that need tackling, unlike Wike who seems more aggressive in his approach.
Despite a PDP panel selecting Wike two days ago, Atiku went with Okowa when he made the announcement on Thursday.
“I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done,” Mr Abubakar said.
