In recognition for her exceptional performance during the 2021–2022 Primera División Season with FC Barcelona, Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala was handed the top scorer crown.
The 28-year-old who has been playing for the Spanish Liga F club since departing Chinese Female league side Dalian Quanjian shared the prestigious award with her teammate Geyse Ferreira for notching 20 league goals at the Marca Women’s Soccer award on Monday.
The BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year for 2015 was presented the award which was hosted by the Marca by its director and the Liga F president Beatriz Alvarez.
The award extended her golden boot trophy haul with the five time African female player of the year claiming the award in the Chinese Women’s Super League the year 2017.
