The leadership of the All Progressives Congress are set to pick a running mate for their flagbearer, Ahmed Bola Tinubu soon.
According to reports, Tinubu is currently making consultations with state governors and stakeholders and will soon settle on a candidate.
It has been gathered that the party prefers a running mate from the North East.
Someone in Tinubu’s camp confirmed on Sunday that he will opt for another Muslim as his running mate.
Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu; a former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima; the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, are being rumoured as potential names for the post.
The party is also set to zone the Senate president to the South East and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the North West.
