Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has today praised President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Electoral Act (2022), which he said paved the way for free and fair elections.
According to Adeleke, the law was pivotal to his defeating Gboyega Oyetola in July 2022 Gubernatorial election in Osun.
This was stated by Adeleke when he disclosed the discussion points of his meeting with the President that took place at the State House in Abuja at around 11:00 am today.
Since the President’s inauguration in November 2022, this is Adeleke’s first encounter with him.
Speaking to the journalists, Adeleke said: “Since my election, I felt like I should come and say hello to President and thank him for signing that Electoral Act because I benefited from it.
“That paved way for free and fair elections and the international community is applauding Nigeria, that Nigeria is set for democracy.
“So that is why I’m here today; to see him, thank him and wish him well in his remaining time in office,” he concluded.
