Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has dissolved the Governing Council of the Osun State University, Osogbo.
Former Governor Rauf Aregbesola appointed the university’s board of trustees under Yusuf Alli in 2016, and after its initial term was over, Adegboyega Oyetola reappointed the board.
According to a statement released by the state’s head of service on Friday, “The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has approved the dissolution of the Governing Council of Osun State University with immediate effect.
“While thanking the council members for their selfless service and commitment to the university, the governor equally appreciates them immensely for their contributions to the development of the university in particular and the state at large and wishes them the best in their future endeavours.”
Meanwhile, the state government on Friday explained that its proposed staff audit is not a witch-hunt or an agenda to sack civil servants unjustly.
