Rumours that Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate is not on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s list of candidates for the March 18 elections have been refuted by the commission.
In defiance of rumours that Adebutu was not the PDP candidate in the state, INEC made this statement.
Such rumours are baseless, according to the resident electoral commissioner in Ogun, Niyi Ijalaye.
“It is a rumour that is not founded, that is all,” Ijalaye said while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday.
He asserts that Adebutu is the PDP’s candidate in the state and urged the people of the state to disregard any reports to the contrary.
As the legitimate PDP candidate for governor, Adebutu would be running in the election, according to the REC.
