Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has urged residents of the State to exercise patience if they have not yet noticed the effects of his administration’s infrastructure development in their neighbourhoods.
He has assured them that his administration is stepping up efforts to spread more infrastructural amenities to all corners of the State in line with his vision.
In the Ijebu North Local Government Area of the State, where he was continuing his second term campaign tour, Abiodun gave the assurance on Friday during the commissioning of the 5.7-kilometre Oru-Awa-Ilaporu Road. He described the newly inaugurated road as an important bypass that would boost the socioeconomic development of the axis.
Abiodun further said: “This will be the third time we will be in this local government to commission road projects. We were here to commission the Igan road in Ago-Iwoye. About five weeks ago, we were at Ijebu-Igbo to commission the Molusi College Road and today we are here to commission the Oru-Awa-Alaporu road.
“This local government area is indeed lucky to have three projects in less than four years. You can recall that this local government did not benefit from any project from the past government, but now you have three.”
The Governor emphasised the importance of the route by adding that it will facilitate the movement of goods and services throughout the local government as well as serve as a by-pass for ijebu-Igbo and travellers from the state to Ibadan in Oyo State.
He also implored the people to vote for him again so they could continue to benefit from democracy, saying that the legacy projects serve as indicators of the kind of growth projects his second term would bring to the state.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders for their assistance, noting that all the projects benefiting the public carried out in the state by his administration were made possible thanks to their support. He pleaded with the locals to exercise patience as the government worked hard to address the high rate of infrastructure decay left behind by the previous administration.
