The PDP’s Atiku Abubakar has claimed Labour Party doesn’t stand a chance against the PDP going into the 2023 presidential elections.
Atiku said this on Thursday when he granted an interview to Arise TV at his home.
Asked how his former running mate, Peter Obi’s ambition for the presidency will impact his chances, considering the fact that most of his(Atiku) support in the past used to come from the East, he said “I really don’t expect the Labour Party to take as much votes from the PDP, as people are suggesting. We could have seen it in the last elections in Osun State. What is the performance of the Labour Party? This is a Party that doesn’t have a governor, doesn’t have members of the national assembly or State Assemblies.
Atiku who said nothing about Nigeria’s dilapidated economy and educational crisis, added “And politics in this country depends on the structures you have at these levels- at the local levels, State levels and at the Federal level. So it is very very difficult to expect a miracle to happen just because Peter Obi is running.
“You are talking about social media, mind you, in the North, 90% of our people are not into social media.”
Peter Obi has claimed his structures are the over 100 million Nigerians living in poverty.
