Blue whales are the largest known animal that have ever existed. The largest known specimen had a length of 110 feet, longer than a Boeing 737.
In addition to being that long, their tongues also weigh as much as a full grown elephant. But that is not all, the tongue of the blue whale is also as big as an elephant.
But how about their lifespan? Well, the blue whale lives an average of 80 to 90 years.
They also are the loudest animals known to man.
Blue whales look true blue underwater, but on the surface their coloring is more a mottled blue-gray.
A whale will let out a single breath that can travel at speeds of 300 mph, 3 times the average speed of a sneeze! When a whale let its breath it can travel at incredible speeds but it also reaches up 30 feet in the air, creating a cloud of mist or spray.
