The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has reassured Nigerians today that the upcoming general elections slated for February will proceed according to schedule.
Mahmood Yakubu, the national chairman of INEC, declared that the polls would take place as planned and added that the schedule had not been altered.
In accordance with the 2022 Electoral Act, Yakubu met with the 18 political party leaders on Wednesday at the commission’s Abuja headquarters and gave them the 2023 voter list before the elections.
“The 2023 general elections will hold as scheduled. Any report to the contrary isn’t true,” Yakubu said.
