The Club owners of the Nigeria Professional Football League have rejected an abridged format for the upcoming 2022/2023 season.
The meeting between the The Interim Management Committee(IMC) and the representatives of the clubs ended in a stalemate, as the clubs insisted on prosecuting a straightforward league where all the clubs will play one another in the season.
There was a heated atmosphere between the IMC and the clubs was the response from one of the representatives when asked the outcome of the meeting.
However, The Nigeria Professional Football League season earlier scheduled to kickoff on December 28th this year, will now kickoff by January 8th, 2023,
The Interim Management Committee IMC, set up to rebrand the league, have been having series of meetings with key stakeholders on how to make the league better after years of stagnation caused by poor management and inadequate funding.
