The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has said the 114% salary increment of government officials sanctioned by the Tinubu administration is untimely. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the indefinite suspension from office of Mr. AbdulRasheed Bawa, CON, as the Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office. According to NTA News, this follows weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him. Mr Bawa has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.

A pedophile identified as Okezie has been paraded in a community in the South-East region of the country for defiling some minors. The little girls he defiled were also paraded by his side while being questioned by some youths. The minors affirmed that they were defiled when questioned and Okezie also admitted to the crime.
