CAF Confederation Cup: Gov Obaseki Charges Insurance FC Ahead of ASO Chlef 2nd Leg Tie

The Governor of Edo state Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki believes that Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin are capable of posting good results away from home when they trade tackles with ASO Chlef of Algeria in the revised fixture of 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary match on Saturday.

The Governor was speaking at the Benin Airport where he bade the Algiers bound Bendel Insurance FC farewell.

He told the team to be conscious of the fact that they represent Edo state and Nigeria as they embark on the journey to Algeria for the continental engagement.

” I came to the Airport to see you guys and to assure you of government support. I want you to know that we are behind you. I am confident that you will be victorious. I believe you can even perform better than you did in Benin last week Saturday. Go and get the victory.” He charged the team, adding, ” You know something good is waiting for you when you win.” The Governor encouraged them.

The Technical Director and head coach of Bendel Insurance FC Monday Odigie in appreciation of the Governor’s visit said that he was pleased, saying that the Governor coming around the team regularly and again sparing time out of his busy schedules to see the team at the airport means a lot to the club. Coach Odigie promised that they will not disappoint the Governor and Edo people.

Earlier, the General Coordinator of Bendel Insurance FC Mrs Sabina Chikere visited the team at their GRA camp to give them words of encouragement before the team left for the Benn Airport.
