Super Eagles Legend Kanu Nwankwo Named Enyimba Chairman

Super Eagles legend and former international – Kanu Nwankwo has been appointed as the new Chairman/Sole Administrator of Enyimba Football Club of Aba.

The news broke in the early hours of Sunday, 2nd of June as the former Arsenal player replaces Felix Anyasi who leaves the role after an illustrious 24-year stint.

Felix would be revered as a living legend of Enyimba since his appointment as Chairman in 1999 with deserving accolades rewarding his administrative role and impact on the club’s successes.

He bagged the African Football Manager of the Year twice (2003, 2004) with the People’s Elephant, while also rewarded by the Nigeria Pitch Awards with the Manager of the Year gong in 2013 and 2015.

It is important to note that Kanu Nwankwo will have huge boots to fill as Chairman, as he links up with his former teammate, Finidi George, who is the head coach of the club in the build-up to defending their NPL title come next season.
