Buhari Wrong About Post-Election Analysis — LP

According to the leadership of the Labour Party, President Muhammadu Buhari can’t be more wrong for claiming opposition parties lost the February 25 presidential election as a result of overconfidence.

Recall that the President had through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity — Garba Shehu said that while the ruling All Progressives Congress was working hard to retain power in the recent elections, the opposition parties were busy telling their foreign backers that they would defeat the APC.

However, in a statement issued in response on Friday, the LP’s acting national publicity secretary, Obiora Ifoh, said it was sad that the President made such a statement because, according to him, the President was aware that the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, had won the election.

Ifoh expressed his anger at various questionable elements that he thought played a role in the election’s final result, which resulted in Asiwaju Bola Tinubu being the next president.

His words: “Mr President is completely wrong. I believe that he was ill-advised. It was erroneous for him to say that opposition parties lost the election because of overconfidence. In fact, the Labour Party won the election but it was brazenly stolen by the APC. Mr President is aware that the APC did not win the election and that it was stolen.”
