After suffering a shocking defeat at home against Guinea Bissau in match day 3 of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier, the Super Eagles of Nigeria bounced back to secure a 0-1 away win against the same opponent.

The Djurtus of Guinea Bissau produced one of the most shocking results on the continent when they secured a 0-1 away win against the 3-time African champions Nigeria at the MKO Abiola Stadium.

The much-changed Nigerian side has successive chances in the first 20 minutes through Kenneth Omeruo and Samuel Chukwueze but were unable to convert.

The bright spot in the Suoer Eagle team Bright-Osayi drove into the penalty box and was brought down by the Guinea defender.

The referee awarded a penalty to Nigeria which was well-converted by Moses Simon in the 30th minute as they ended the half in the driving seat.

The second half resumed with the host trying to press more to get the much-needed equaliser but was unable to break down Nigeria’s defence.
