EPL: Manchester City fail to capitalize on Arsenal slip with 1-0 defeat at Tottenham

Manchester City failed to close the gap to Arsenal with a 1-0 loss to North London neighbors Tottenham Hotspur in a league fixture on Sunday night.

En route to today’s game, Pep Guardiola’s City were only five points behind league leaders Arsenal who lost to Sean Dyche’s Everton 1-0 in Saturday’s early kickoff.

City started strong at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium but fell behind with just 15 minutes on the clock against the run of play.

Tottenham Hotspur skipper Harry Kane broke the club’s all-time goalscoring record after being set up by Emil Hojbjerg before shooting the ball into the right corner to score his goal number 267 for the London based team and give the host the lead.

The defeat means Manchester City have once again failed to win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a 1-0 defeat on Sunday.

City’s winless run at Tottenham’s new ground continues after another disappointing display and they fail to make up ground on Arsenal.
