Bingham University bans students from using Smartphones on Campus

Authorities at Bingham University have banned the use or smartphones on campus.

Bingham, a private University located in Nasarawa State, made the announcement on 18th January, 2023.

In a notice tagged ‘BAN ON THE USE OF SMART PHONES’ the school said, “Following repeated abuse in the use of smartphones in contravention of section 5.14 subsection 1, il and lil of the students handbook, the use of smartphones is hereby prohibited with immediate effect.”

The statement which was signed by one Dr. (Mrs.) Esther J. Dyaji added, “Violators of this would have their phones confiscated and face appropriate sanction.”

Bingham University which is owned by Evangelical Church Winning All(ECWA), is not the first Nigerian private university to restrict the use of smartphones. Covenant University owned by Living Faith Church has also banned the use of smartphones.
