The United States City of Dallas in Texas, has awarded Labour Party’s Peter Obi an honorary citizenship.
This was confirmed by Obi on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday night.
“Today in Dallas Texas United States, I met with the Mayor of Dallas and his team. I had the privilege of being conferred with the honorary citizenship of Dallas. I also met with a select group of Texas Judges,” said Obi.
On his part, the Mayor of Texas, Eric Johnson, who honored him said he looks forward to working with him in the future.
Johnson said, “Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming The Honorable Peter Obi — the former Governor of Anambra, Nigeria — to Dallas City Hall. I proclaimed him to be an Honorary Citizen of Dallas, and I look forward to welcoming him back to our city in the years to come. 🇺🇸🇳🇬”
