Nigerians call for New Goalkeeper after Super Eagles’ 2:1 defeat to Algeria

Super Eagles showed why they will not be missed at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup when they took on the Desert Foxes in an international friendly game on Tuesday.

The Nigerians wore their newly released Nike kit, but their old form was on display.

Terem Moffi gave the Nigerian side a ninth minute lead, but Manchester City forward Riyad Mahrez drew Algeria level with a penalty kick goal in the 41st minute.

According to NAN, Algerian midfielder Youcef Atal scored in the 61st minute to hand the Desert Foxes the lead and ultimately the win.

Many called to question the role of Nigerian goalkeeper, Uzoho in the second goal. Nigerians have been calling for the return of Vincent Enyeama or for new goalkeepers to be recruited as the current crop are not doing their job.
