Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu ha directed DPOs and Area Commanders across the state to restrict the movement of Okada riders in selected parts of the State.
Sanwo-Olu stated this while addressing them at the Government.
He said the order covers all highways and some local governments, including Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Surulere, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland and Apapa.
The governor announced that the ban is “indefinite and total.”
The six local governments listed by the governor are Ikeja, Surulere, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Apapa.
This is the Governor’s response to the gruesome killing of Dave, a sound engineer that was killed by okada men in Lekki Phase 1 last week.
So far, ten arrests have been made by the Lagos State Police Command as they continue to uncover the perpetrators of the crime.
