
The remains of Deborah laid to rest.
The remains of Deborah Yakubu, the 200 level Home Economics students who was stoned to death before burned by Islamic fanatics has been buried.
This is coming after the Sokoto State Government instructed that her remains be kept in the morgue till proper arrangements for her burial were concluded.
According to reports, an official of the Sokoto State government was unable to get the parents of the deceased to agree to their bidding.
She was transported to her Tungan Magajiya in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State, where she is from.
Daily Post confirmed that since news of her death reach the parents, her mother has been unconscious while the father has been in a state of grief and pain.
Reacting, the Pastor of the family in charge of 1st ECWA in Tunga Magajiya, Pastor Emmanuel Maaji explained that the family are insisting that their daughter be buried today as against the state government’s position to wait until it completes its own arrangement.
According to him, the parents are not happy with the manner the government is handling the issue.
The late Deborah had been living with family members in Sokoto since her primary school days.
