Former President Goodluck Jonathan has joined the 2023 Presidential race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Jonathan who was once the vice-president to late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua picked the form yesterday through a proxy group, as it has now become the trend.
Many Nigerians were left stunned that he would jump ship at the tail end to contest under the party that ousted him back in 2015, after so many years in the People’s Democratic Party.
Jonathan is understood to be wooed by the Northern elite as they aim to regain power after he completes a single term of 4 years, as the Constitution stipulates, should he win.
Both parties, the APC and the PDP are expected to complete their primaries before end of May and submit their candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on or before 3rd of June.
