Sanusi’s late Strike Earns Porto 30th League title
Super Eagles left back, Zaidu Sanusi left it late to help his club side, FC Porto of Portugal win the League.
The goal came late in extra time after the Nigerian overlapped on a counter attack and was fed the ball for him to slot it behind Benfica keeper, as the game ended 1:0
Porto now has the league, after Sporting Lisbon won it last season.
The result guarantees that last year’s champions Sporting will finish second, and qualify for the Champions League group stage, with Benfica third.
Sporting also defected Portimonense 3 goals to 2 on Saturday night and have an eleven-point edge with a game in hand on Lisbon rivals Benfica.
Benfica, who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season, will go into the qualifying round of the competition.
