Arsenal win again to consolidate 4th spot

Arsenal continued their ascent into the top of the table with a convincing win over a much changed Leeds side on Saturday evening.

With most of the games postponed due to the recent Covid outbreak, Leeds would have wished they also petitioned the Premier League for a shift.

With about 9 first team players out injured, Marcelo Bielsa had to bring in many youth players as he tried and failed to stop a resurgent Arsenal side even at full Elland Road.

Gabriel Martinelli capitalised on some defensive mistakes to get a first half brace, before Bukayo Saka scores a third before half time.

Raphinha got one back for the host from the spot after Ben White fouled Gelhardt in the box, but Emile Smith Rowe’s close range finish buried all hopes the host had of getting back into the game.

Arsenal now sit comfortably in 4th, while Leeds are five points clear of relegation in 16th.
