In a solemn promise, strong critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Aisha Yesufu, has once again promised never to give up on Nigeria, no matter what it throws at her.
Yesufu made the promise in a video posted on her offficial facebook page on Sunday to celebrate her 48th birthday anniversary.
Her promise comes on the heels of the ravaging security challenges across the country, particularly in the north western region.
Twenty-three persons were burnt to death on Monday, December 6th, when the bus they were travelling in was shot at by suspected bandits in Sokoto State.
Armed persons also abducted many people in two days of attacks on communities in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto state last Friday and Saturday. Two people were also killed in one of the attacks.
In the video, the activist and co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, also called on every one in the country, irrespective of party or belief, to join hands together to ensure that Nigeria succeeds.
She lamented that there is bloodshed in every part of the country and decried that “Our children, who are supposed to be having a life of ease, are having life of difficulty, they’re having to do what we ought to have done for them. They’re coming out to protest, yet they’re been arrested, shot at, tear-gassed, they’re been killed, that’s not the way it should be.
“Our country needs everyone of us and we need to come out and do the needful. We need to be vocal, we need to asked to be treated like human beings and we need to make demands.
“Today, on my 48th birthday, all I can say is, I am not giving up on Nigeria, no matter what it throws at me.”
