The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has called on men of the Nigerian police to learn how to treat others the same way they would want to be treated.
Oba Akiolu stated this in Lagos on Thursday, after he played host to the American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Leonard, who visited his palace.
His instructions to the police were contained in a statement released by the Palace.
“The Monarch also identified the Nigerian Police as an important player in the nation’s security system noting, however, that lack of equipment and inadequate welfare of officers had bred bad eggs among the personnel, just as he affirmed that the Police is servant to the public and admonished officers to treat civilians as they would love to be treated after service,” the statement read.
He further called on all Nigerians to be security conscious, in order to collaborate the efforts of the Nigerian police.
