5 men arrested in Port Harcourt in connection with theft, destruction of N20m-worth of properties

The Nigerian Port Authority has arrested some five persons in connection with the theft and destruction of properties.

The men were paraded in Port Harcourt on Wednesday at the premises of the NPA, led by Police Commissioner, Tami Peterside.

According to Peterside, the suspects had been operating for “several months before they were trailed and caught during an operation” in Bua area of the state.

Peterside went on to say the worth of the assets the culprits stole and destroyed amounted to about N20 million.

She added that the five men would be tried and duly prosecuted in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
