A retired Air Force Officer, Muhammad Maisaka, has been reportedly killed by gunmen at his residence in Ragasi, Igabi LGA of Kaduna.
According to reports, the gunmen were said to have attacked his residence, killing him and leaving the house without stealing anything.
The Police Spokesman in the state, Muhammad Jalige, confirmed the incident to NAN on Tuesday.
Jalige, who said the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday also, disclosed that the gateman of the deceased also sustained injury in the attack.
The police image maker, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mudassiru Abdullah, after receiving the information, directed the divisional police officer and the area Commander to the scene.
“The corpse has been evacuated to the hospital and the gateman has also been rushed to the hospital for treatment”, he said.
Jalige said details of the incident will be made public soon, and he appealed to Kaduna residents to come forward with useful and timely information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.
There have been cases of gunmen attacking individuals in different states in recent times, including security operatives.
About a week ago, gunmen killed two police officers in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital while they were conducting a stop and search.
