English side, Watford has signed Nigerian goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye on a five and half year deal.
The 22-year-old will join Troost Ekong, Emmanuel Bonaventure, and Eghenekaro Etebo at Watford, to make it four Nigerians in one team.
Okoye will however remain at his current club, Sparta Rotterdam till January 1st 2022 when he will join his new club.
At 1.97m meters, Okoye is taller than Watford’s current 38-year-old goalkeeper, Ben Foster who stands at 1.93m.
Watford have also confirmed the signing and also that he will remain at Sparta Rotterdam (on loan) until the end of the season.
“We’re pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached to sign Maduka Okoye on January 1, 2022. The Nigerian goalkeeper joins from Sparta Rotterdam where he will return on loan until the end of the 2021/22 campaign,” the statement from the club’s official Facebook site read.
