Former Deputy Central Bank Governor, Obadiah Mailafia was on Friday buried in Abuja.
Mailafia who was from Southern Kaduna passed away on 19th September at the National Hospital.
Before his passing, the former Presidential aspirant who contested the 2019 Presidential elections under the umbrella of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was severally persecuted by the Federal Government through the secret police, DSS. Most of his battles with rhe government were due to his criticism of the Buhari-led administration.
Luka Binniyat, spokesman for the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) had said Mailafia, who took refuge in Makurdi, Benue state, following alleged persistent harassment by the Department of State Services (DSS), fell sick and was rushed to an Abuja hospital where he was pronounced dead.
