Arsenal win against fellow mid-table rivals, Aston Villa

Arsenal got back to winning ways on Friday night, as they played host to another London side, Aston Villa.

The Gunnars were hoping to bounce back from their draw against Crystal Palace at the Emirates last time out.

Summer signing, Thomas Partey got Arteta’s men on the front foot early on, with a fine finish, before Aubameyang made it 2:0, after his initial penalty was paried by Aston Villa’s Martinez, even as Villa were unable to muster a shot all game.

Emile Smith Rowe then put the home side beyond reach with a fine finish that went in off Tyrone Mings, after intercepting a through ball deep in his own half.

Villa later pulled a goal back through youngster, after Arsenal got too complacent, but it was too late to kick-start a comeback, as the home side won against their mid-table rivals.
