Following their recent takeover, Newcastle United announce coach Steve Bruce has left the club by mutual consent as they sit 19th in the Premier League.
The former Manchester United player has been in charge of the Geordies since 2019, managing to keep them up and avoid relegation.
The official statement on the club’s twitter page read, “Newcastle United can confirm that Steve Bruce has left his position as head coach by mutual consent.
“The club would like to place on record its gratitude to Steve for his contribution and wishes him well for the future.”
The club however did not name a successor but it is believed to have someone in mind. Bruce’s sack could be seen from afar off since the takeover, as the ambitions of the new owners could easily be seen in the way they took over.
