Ten suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo Boys” were on Wednesday, arrested by the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The suspects were arrested in the Kubwa axis of Abuja.
EFCC disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by its Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren.
Uwujaren said the suspects are Victor Onyemachi, Okolo Abdulganiyu, Williams Ebenezer, Victor Ejike, Ojonugwa V. Adama, Ejeh Michael, Bala Ogecha Sadiq, Ejaigu Obokohwo, Azubike Joel and Ejaigu Tobore Donald.
According to him, they were apprehended on the receipt of verified intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.
Items recovered from the suspects include four laptops and 13 mobile phones.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded.
Arrest of internet fraud suspects is no longer a strange phenomenon to most Nigerians as there is hardly any day that passes with arrests by the anti-graft agency.
What however, remains a cause of concern to most people, is the law rate of conviction of these suspects.
