Rivers: Bus Conductor Pushes Passenger To Death From Moving Vehicle Over N50

The family of one Tedus Ohawen are currently in a mourning mood following the death of their son, Tedus, who lost his life on Friday in Rivers State.

Tedus Ohawen, who was a passenger in a commercial bus lost his life following an argument between the bus driver, his conductor over N50 naira transportation fare.

The incident happened along Wobo Street within Mile three Diobu Port Harcourt in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Reports say one Godstime Ihunwo, a leader of a vigilante group in the area, explained that the passenger was having an argument with the conductor when he was pushed out of the moving bus.

Ihunwo said a bus “ran over the passenger” and zoomed off before the driver got apprehended and handed over to the mile three Police Division.

“I was there and saw the conductor quarreling with the guy about 50 naira before you know it he pushed the guy out of the bus”, an eyewitness said.

Reacting in a similar vein, the Youth President of Rumu-Elechi community, Okpara Christian said it took the intervention of the police personnel to restore calm in the area after the victim was confirmed dead.

SWITCH NIGERIA reports that the Rivers State Police Command has not reacted to the incident at the time of filing this report.
