A popular Fulani herdsman in Ago-Are community Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, simply known as Ibrahim, has been killed by unknown gunmen.
Ibrahim was gruesomely murdered at Ago-Are, while the assailants are still at large.
The herdsman murder comes days after the report of an invasion of a farm settlement at Oro-Ago town in the local government area, in which a life was lost.
This was revealed in Ilorin on Friday by the Spokesman of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Babawale Zaid Afolabi.
According to him, a large number of unknown gunmen had on Thursday night, stormed the premises of the deceased and left him in the pool of his own blood.
He said the brother of the deceased had also lost his life early this year in a similar fashion at Ajegunle area of Are-Ago, of Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
“Yes, we got the report on Friday, through our Divisional Officer in the town, Najimu Lawal about another attack in Ago-Are community.
“This time around, a Fulani herdsman simply known as Ibrahim or Ibro, was attacked and hacked to death by the assailants,” the spokesman stated.
He said a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the perpetrators of the criminal act by the NSCDC and other security agencies, promising that no stone will be left unturned to bring them to justice.
According to Babawale, the incident, has been reported at the divisional police station as efforts are on to arrest the masterminds and further prevent further attacks on the community.
