UCL| Ronaldo scores 95th minute Winner despite poor Man United Performance

Pitched against the same side that defeated them in the UEFA Europa League final last season in Villarreal, Manchester United were out for revenge.Instead, the home side became the haunted as the Spanish side pinned them back all night at Old Trafford.Time and time again, De Gea who missed the penultimate penalty back in May kept United in the game, but just after the break, Paco Alcacer slotted in to give the men n yellow a much deserved win. However, barely fifteen minutes later, Alex Telles drew the home side level with a belter of a goal, to give the fans a glimpse of hope. The equalizer did not in anyway cause Unai Emery’s men to switch off, they instead turned on the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men. However, they came undone late on when Cristiano Ronaldo scored from a tight angle late on, despite being poor all night to claim all three points for United. They will be much relieved now. However, this is the third consecutive game United has tried to snatch a point or points late on. It remains to be seen how long they can keep this up.
